3CX shows how many calls and how long they lasted. What they cost at your carrier's tariff, it does not.
3CX is an excellent PBX, but its call reports have one gap: they do not know your carrier's tariff. They show how many calls and how long, not what they cost. If you need to know which extension spent how much, split the phone bill across cost centres or separate employees' private calls, you need a call accounting program. Tarifon is call accounting for 3CX that runs on an ordinary PC in your office and is deployed in ten minutes.
Tarifon supports 3CX V20 in two ways. Over XAPI (the interface available only in the AI Edition, 8SC+ licence, formerly Enterprise) it pulls the calls itself and also loads the list of extensions. Over the CDR socket, which every edition has, including instances hosted by 3CX, it receives call records in real time – Tarifon either opens a port the PBX sends to, or connects to the PBX itself. Nothing is retyped by hand and you buy no add-on for 3CX.
With XAPI the API client must have the System Owner role – the System Admin role has no right to call history and the report would come out empty.
Yes, over the CDR socket, which every 3CX edition has. XAPI is the more convenient route – it is a condition only for automatic blocking of an extension after abuse.
Yes, when connected over XAPI. Tarifon inserts its own “Block calls” Outbound Rule at the top of the list in 3CX, so no further call leaves the suspicious extension; emergency numbers are not affected. You unblock the extension with one click in Tarifon. Over the CDR socket Tarifon cannot change the PBX – then you only get the e-mail alert.
Yes. The PBX sends the records to the address and port of the computer running Tarifon, so that computer must be reachable from the internet – a public IP and port forwarding on the router, restricted to the IP address of the PBX.
Yes – in the wizard you tick „times from the PBX are in UTC“. If you forget, Tarifon reports the mismatch itself after the first call.
With XAPI, Tarifon re-imports the missing calls once the connection is back. With the CDR socket the PBX sends a record only at the moment a call ends and will not repeat it – calls from the outage are gone. Tarifon reconnects automatically and shows in the header which period may be incomplete. That is why you should leave it running.

The full version, no card needed. When the trial ends the program keeps collecting calls – once you buy a licence, no history is lost.
